Complete Idiots Guide to #FollowFriday #FF
If you’re a Twitter user, whether an avid tweeter or not, you at one point in your Twitter career have seen someone post #FF followed by a bunch of Twitter handles. Hey that looks like fun! I’m going to spam all my followers to follow the spammers that I follow, so we can all spam you every single Friday!! Yayyyy!
C’mon seriously. Who started this #FollowFriday thing? And why has it become an all out spamfest on Friday’s? I have one question…
Where’s the value?
You’re blasting my Twitter feed all day, every single Friday. One after another, “#FF Follow these peeps, they’re the best! @spammer @twitteridiot @iamafool” I see these messages all day. Do you really think I’m going to see your tweet and follow every single one of those people? First, I hardly know who you are; and second, I could care even less about these idiots you’re telling me to follow.
Provide some value, tell me “You should follow @actuallyhasgoodideas for funny behind the scenes content” or “#FF @socialmedianinja awesome insight about knowing nothing about social media and having a stupid title”.
Lastly, please don’t RT other peoples #FF… you’re making it worse. Not only do I have to see the moronic ravings of @socialmedianinja but now I have to see @socialmediawizard RT it??
How about you Tweet this: #STOPFOLLOWFRIDAY
A Brief Taste of YouTube Sensationism
I recently had the chance to do a little YouTube acting for a series of videos we shot at the 2011 LA Auto Show. We wanted lasting content from the show to engage the fans that couldn’t attend. Most of these were done on the fly, unrehearsed, and took less than 3-4 takes. All in all, it was good fun.

Twitter Deleted My Following and Followers #FAIL
What the hell Twitter, seriously?? Where did all my Followers and Following go… I’m so close to dropping you forever and putting all my effort into getting a Google+ account. Google never played me like this. Here I am just sitting around getting my social media activity going and all of a sudden my followers and following numbers are gone. Down to zero. I couldn’t believe it. After all my hardwork of retweeting and interacting with folks on Twitter, my followers were gone and so were the people I was following.
UPDATE: I could not find any logical reasoning as to why this happening, however, maybe 10-15 minutes later my Followers and Following was restored. After it happened I went right to Twitter search and sure enough tons of people were having the same problem. My final conclusion is that it was an error on Twitter’s end. If yours did not restore I’d recommend hitting up Twitter @Support or visiting http://support.twitter.com. Hope that helps and thank you for reading my rant.
